July 22, 2002 Page 416 <br /> <br />(J) REPORTS <br /> <br /> There were no reports included in the Agenda. <br /> <br />(K) CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to <br />consider the acquisition of real property located in the vicinity of the <br />Harris Road Middle School as authorized by North Carolina General Statute <br />143-318.11(a) (5) and to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion <br />of industries or other businesses in Cabarrus County as authorized by North <br />Carolina General Statute 143-318.11{a) (4). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to end the Closed Session. <br /> <br />Condemnation of Property <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Suggs and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Attorney to institute <br />condemnation proceedings to acquire approximately 0.15 acre of land, located <br />on the east side of Harris Road and owned by Johnny's LLC, at a value of <br />$3,500.00. The purpose for which the property is to be condemned is to <br />provide a right-of-way for the installation of a gas line to serve the new <br />school on Harris Road. <br /> <br />(L) ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Freeman adjourned the meeting at 8:22 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
