Freeman, Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />(C-2) Recognition of Tony Overcash on his Retirement from the Cabarrus <br />County Sheriff's Department' <br /> <br /> Sheriff Brad Riley recognized David D~nthony ~Tony" Overcash on his <br />retirement from the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department. Sergeant Overcash <br />began his career with the Sheriff's Office on October 18, 1973 and retired on <br />September 30, 2002. <br /> <br /> -- On behalf of the Board, Vice Chairman Carruth presented a plaque to <br />Sergeant Overcash in appreciation for his service to Cabarrus County and its <br />citizens. <br /> <br />(C-3) National 4-H Month Celebration Recognition - Debbie Bost <br /> <br /> Ms. Debbie Bost, County Extension Director, presented information <br />concerning the 100tn anniversary celebration of 4-H. Also, she recognized 4-H <br />members for their tabletop exhibits that were on display at the Governmental <br />Center. The exhibits were judged on October 4 and the results were as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1st place - Ashlyn Rickard, .Junior Division 9-10 year olds; Hannah <br />Rickard, Junior Division 11-12 year olds; Kristen Mason, Senior <br />Division 13-15 year olds; and Kristy Westbook, Senior Division <br />16-18 year olds. <br /> <br />2~d place - Barbara Harper, Junior Division 9-10 year olds; Kayla <br />Mason, Junior Division 11-12 year olds; John Wesley Goff, Senior <br />Division 13-15 year olds (Tie); Adele Harper, Senior Division 13- <br />15 year olds (Tie); and Charity Hill, Senior Division 16-18 year <br />olds <br /> <br />3rd Place - Meghan Wells, Senior Division 16-18 year olds <br /> <br />4th Place - Allison Goff - Senior Division 13-15 year olds <br /> <br />Honorable Mention - Lainey Rickard (Cloverbuds); Daniel Outen <br />(Seniors) <br /> <br /> Chairman Freeman Presented a Certificate to those winners who were <br />present for the meeting. <br /> <br />(C-4) Recognition of Dave Goff, Extension 4-H Agent, on his Retirement <br /> <br /> MS. Debbie Bost, County Extension Director, recognized Dave Goff on his <br />retirement as Extension 4-H Agent in Cabarrus County. Mr. Goff began his <br />career with the North Carolina Extension Service in February 1976 and retired <br />in September 2002. <br /> <br /> On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Fennel presented <br />a plaque to Mr. Goff in appreciation for his service to Cabarrus County and <br />its citizens. <br /> <br />(C-5) Cabarrus County Employees' 2002 United Way Campaign Report <br /> <br /> <br />
