47 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Suggs <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the minutes of February 15, 19 <br />and 26, 2001 and March 12, 2001 as written. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA <br /> <br /> Mr. Clifton asked that the following items be added to the Agenda: (1) <br />Consent Agenda - Resolution Approving the Selection of Bond Counsel for <br />Proposed Exempt Facility Revenue Bonds for Corning, Inc.; and (2) <br />Recognitions - Announcement by Commissioner Privette. The Board had %dopted <br />a resolution on February 19, 2001 approving the bond counsel for Corning; <br />however, the amount of the proposed bonds was increased since that meeting. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Agenda with the additions listed <br />by Mr. Clifton. <br /> <br />RECOGNITIONS ~ PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Recognition of Louis Partain on his Retirement from the Department of A~in~ - <br />Mike Murphy, Aging Director <br /> <br /> Ms. Susan Donaldson of the Department of Aging recognized Mr. Louis <br />Partain who retired as Weatherization Program Coordinator on February 28, <br />2001. Mr. Partain began work with the Department of Aging on September 1, <br />1985. <br /> <br /> On behalf of the Board, Commissioner Privette presented a plaque to Mr. <br />Partain in appreciation for his 15 years of service to Cabarrus County and <br />its citizens. <br /> <br /> Board members congratulated Mr. Partain on his retirement and expressed <br />appreciation to him for his service to Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Proclamation in Recognition of the 250th Anniversary of Rocky River <br />Presbyterian Church - Marie Morrison, Chairman, 250th Anniversary Committee <br /> <br /> Ms. Marie Morrison, Chairman of the 250tn Anniversary Committee of Rocky <br />River Presbyterian Church, presented a brief overview of the history of the <br />church. The church will celebrate its 250~n anniversary on May 3-6, 2001. <br /> <br /> Chairman Fennel read the following Proclamation and presented the <br />signed Proclamation to Ms. Morrison. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County <br />Commissioners does hereby proclaim May 3 - 6, 2001, as <br /> Rocky River Presbyterian Church Days <br />in Cabarrus COunty. <br /> This the 26th day of March, 2001. <br /> <br />Rocky River Presbyterian Church was organized in 1751 and is the <br />oldest Presbyterian Church in Cabarrus County; and <br />the Cabarrus Black Boys were among the many members of Rocky River <br />Presbyterian Church who were leaders in striving for American <br />independenCe; and <br />Rocky River Presbyterian Church continues to serve this community <br />with an active congregation involved in a variety of service <br />projects within Cabarrus County and beyond; and. <br />2001 marks the 250tn anniversary of the organization of Rocky River <br />Presbyterian Church~ and <br />May 3 - 6, 2001, will be the primary celebration of this 250~n <br />anniversary. <br /> Board of <br /> <br />/s/ Arne L.
