<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved, pursuant to North Carolina General
<br />Statute 132-7, the request by Register of Deeds Linda McAbee to allow original
<br />plats and maps to be taken from the Register of Deeds Office by the vendor,
<br />Logan Systems, Inc., to Greensboro, North Carolina for imaging on weekends
<br />beginning April 27, '2001 and continuing on weekends until the project is
<br />completed.

<br />Authorization to Increase Purchase Order Limit from $100.00 to $500.00
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved an increase in the purchase order
<br />limit from $100.00 to $500.00 effective July 1, 2001 as requested by Mr. Blair
<br />Bennett, Deputy County Manager for Administration.

<br />Approval of Change Order ($47,372.76) to Brown Utility Company's Contract for
<br />Construction of Turn Lanes for North Cabarrus Park
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved Change Order No. 1 in the amount of
<br />$47,372.76 to Brown Utility Company's contract for the general construction of
<br />North Cabarrus Park - Phase I. The change order will provide for the
<br />construction of turn lanes for the Park.

<br /> BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of County Commissioners of the
<br />County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, that, pursuant to Section 13.2
<br />of Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, the
<br />following capital project ordinance is hereby adopted:

<br /> Section 1. The project authorized is the construction of
<br />two new middle schools and a new elementary school to be financed
<br />by the sale of certificates of participation (COPS) and with
<br />additional funding being provided from other funding sources of
<br />the County.
