<br />Recommended by the Criminal Justice Partnership Pro~ramAdvisory Board

<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract with Carolina Addiction
<br />and Recovery Environment, Inc., of Concord for the period July 1, 2001 to
<br />June 30, 2002, as recommended by the Cabarrus County Criminal Justice
<br />Partnership Program Advisory Board. The contract will provide for substance
<br />abuse assessments, intensive outpatient treatment and regular outpatient
<br />treatment to defendants who have received intermediate sanctioned punishments
<br />by the court. The annual payment for services will not exceed $126,892.00
<br />with all funding provided by the State through the Criminal Justice
<br />Partnership Program.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board, pursuant to North Carolina General Statute
<br />20-187.2, declared surplus and authorized the award for the price of $1.00
<br />the service weapon (Smith & Wesson, 9MM, Model 5906, Serial #TEP1402) to
<br />Deputy Talmadge D. Blackwell upon his retirement on June 28, 2001.
