Ms. Honeycutt <br />will fill the position held by Steven Propst who had served on the Authority <br />since 1992. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Pastor Sam Farina to Seat Number <br />6 (Chamber of Commerce nominee) on the Tourism Authority. Pastor Farina will <br />fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Terri L. Hill and will <br />complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2003. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed John Cox to Seat No. 9 (Chamber <br />of Commerce Nominee) on the Tourism Authority for a term of three years <br />beginning January 1, 2002 and ending December 31, 2004. Mr. Cox will fill the <br />position previously held by Roger Haas who had served on the Tourism <br />Authority since 1993. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Sharon Campbell, Marketing <br />Director for Concord Mills Mall, to Seat No. 7 (at large member) on the <br />Tourism Authority, with the understanding that she will be relocating to <br />Cabarrus County. Ms. Campbell's appointment was for a term of three years <br />beginning January 1, 2002 and ending December 31, 2004. She will fill the <br />position previously held by Lynne Priestley. <br /> <br />Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Betty Moss to the Adult Care <br />Home Community Advisory Committee for a term of three years ending December <br />31, 2004. <br /> <br />Home and Communit~ Care Block Grant Steering Committee <br /> <br /> The Board received the correspondence from Michael Murphy, Aging <br />Services Director, concerning the appointment of staff members to the Home <br />and Community Care Block Grant Steering Committee. Also, the Board received <br />correspondence from Jack Airheart, Chair of the Board of Directors of the <br />Coltrane L.I.F.E. Center, Inc., requesting the appointment of Susan Caudle, <br />Executive Director of the L.I.F.E., to the Committee. Previously, the Board <br />had declined to appoint those individuals a's they reside outside Cabarrus <br />County. <br /> <br /> There was brief discussion regarding the residency requirement for <br />appointments to boards and committees. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed the following persons to the <br />Home and Community Care Block Grant Steering Committee as ex officio members <br />with no voting power and asked the Committee to continue to look for other <br />appointees who are Cabarrus County residents: Michael Murphy (Aging Services <br />Director); Susan Caudle (Executive Director of the Coltrane L.I.F.E. Center); <br />Chasity Stoker (Cabarrus Aging Network); and Laurie Abounader (Centralina <br />Area Agency on Aging). <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Transportation Advisory Board <br /> <br /> The Board received the written request from James Sasser, <br />Transportation Planner, to expand membership of the Transportation Advisory <br />Board and appoint the following persons: Monica H. Everhart; Brenda Ward; Tim <br />Bullard; and Wendy Griffin. It was noted that Ms. Griffin (Social Worker <br />with the North Carolina Division of Services for the Blind resides outside <br />Cabarrus County° <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Wendy Griffin as an ex officio <br />member of the Cabarrus County Transportation Advisory Board with no voting <br />power. <br /> <br /> <br />
