<br />Local Law Enforcement Block Grants (FY 2000 and FY 1999) - Public Hearing -
<br />6230 p.m.
<br />
<br /> Lieutenant Phillip Patterson with the Communications Division of the
<br />Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department advised that funding is available from
<br />the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant for FY 2000 ($45,697.00) and for FY
<br />1999 ($12,212.00). He stated the funds would be used for the mobile data
<br />project with the local ten percent match to be provided from the drug seizure
<br />money.
<br />
<br /> At 7:50 p.m., Chairman Fennel opened the public hearing concerning the
<br />Local Law Enforcement Block Grants for FY 2000 and FY 1999 and asked if
<br />anyone wished to speak regarding the block grants. The Notice of the Public
<br />Hearing was published in THE INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE on December 1, 2000. There
<br />was no one present to address the Board, and Chairman Fennel closed the
<br />public hearing.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Freeman
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the two Local Law Enforcement
<br />Block Grants (FY 2000 and FY 1999) as presented by Lieutenant Phillip
<br />Patterson and adopted the following budget amendments.
