213 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner <br />Privette and unanimously carried, the Board directed staff and the County <br />Attorney to look at a possible proposal to be presented to the Fair Board on <br />a possible lease addressing those issues raised by Chairman Barnhart and <br />brought back to the Board at its next meeting. The proposal is to include <br />~trigger dates" establishing a time frame for specific action such as <br />purchase of property by the Fair. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Carpenter also indicated that the Fairgrounds Committee <br />would be meeting on Wednesday and could possibly address some of the issues <br />raised by Chairman Barnhart at that time. <br /> <br /> The motion by Commissioner Casper to amend the motion by Commissioner <br />Carpenter to include direction to the staff to determine what would be an <br />equitable figure at current day rates for leasing the County's 12 acres of <br />property died for the lack of a second. <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart stated that the Board by consensus could ask staff to <br />get the information requested by Commissioner Casper along with answers to <br />the questions raised by him concerning the Fair. Lorish, Ed.D., <br />Area Director of the Piedmont Behavioral Healthcare, that the County organize <br />a task force to address the issue of school violence. The primary focus <br />would be on the prevention and planning for the handling of an incident such <br />as the recent school tragedy in Colorado. <br /> <br /> <br />
