<br /> WHEREAS, the Clean NC 2000 initiative aims to improve the appearance of
<br />North Carolina by removing litter and other debris from our roadsides,
<br />rivers, lakes and streams; and
<br /> WHEREAS, Clean NC 2000 aims to educate all citizens about the harmful
<br />effects of litter; and
<br /> WHEREAS, there should be a partnership between the state and counties
<br />to clean up the state;
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus
<br />County that it endorses and supports the Clean NC 2000 initiative.
<br /> FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that county will assist in identifying a
<br />countywide organization to identify the needs specific to their county.
<br /> FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the county organization will consist of a
<br />local coordinator that will work with the statewide coordinator.
<br /> Adopted this 21st day of June, 1999.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Casper
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Home and Community Care Block

<br />Authorization to Award Contract to Cott Systems, ~Piqqybackinq" an Award by
<br />Swain County, for Tax Administration Software and Associated Hardware and to
<br />
<br />Terminate ComDuter Center Software Contract

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Casper
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following action: (1) Approve
<br />"piggybacking" the April 6, 1999 Swain County contract with Cott Systems in
<br />accordance with NCGS 143-129; (2) Award the contract as included in the
<br />agenda, subject to minor modifications by the County Attorney, to Cott
<br />Systems in the amount of $287,786.00; (3) Authorize the County Manager to
<br />sign the contract on behalf of the Board; and (4) Authorize staff to take
<br />necessary actions to terminate the Computer Center (MUNIS) software contract
<br />dated March 16, 1998.

<br />INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE on June 11, 1999.
