The Amendment was mandated by State welfare reform <br />legislation signed into law August 4, 1999. The Amendment to the County's <br />Plan provides for the following: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />The County will provide employment-related services to non- <br />custodial parents of Work First children when the non-custodial <br />parent's family income is at or below 200% of poverty and in <br />accordance with the policy outlined in Work First policy. <br />The County will provide services to families with children when <br />the family income is at or below 200% of poverty and in <br />accordance with the policy outlined in Work First Policy. <br />The County will provide emergency assistance in accordance with <br />the basic eligibility requirements given in the State Plan. The <br />family's gross income must be at or below 150% of the poverty <br />level (rather than the 200% maximum permitted in the State Plan.) <br /> <br />Authorization to Apply for an Employment and Traininq Grant for Food Stamp. <br />Recipients <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board granted approval for the Cabarrus County <br />Department of Social Services to apply for a 100 percent federal-funded grant <br />of $89,000.00 to provide purchased employment and training services to <br />certain able-bodied Food Stamp Program recipients. <br /> <br />Professional Service Aqreement with Woolpert LLP for Phase One Development of <br />the North Cabarrus Park <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the "Professional Service <br />Agreement between Woolpert LLP and Cabarrus County" for Phase One Development <br />of the North Cabarrus Park.
