469 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Judge Davis served this community and the citizens of <br />North Carolina as Superior Court Judge with unfailing integrity, <br />dignity and distinction. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners expresses deep gratitude and sincere appreciation <br />to Superior Court Judge James C. Davis for his 20 years of <br />distinguished and dedicated service to the citizens of Cabarrus <br />County and the State of North Carolina and extends best wishes to <br />him for a long and happy retirement; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners hereby <br />names the Superior Courtroom (Courtroom 1) in the Cabarrus County <br />Courthouse as the JAMES C. DAVIS SUPERIOR COURTROOM in honor of <br />Judge Davis and directs that appropriate signage be posted <br />designating said Courtroom. <br /> Adopted this the 20th day of January, 1998. <br /> <br />/s/ Sue B. Casper, Chair <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board ratified the Resolution Honoring Superior <br />Court Judge James C. Davis. <br /> <br />Recognition of the A. L. Brown High School Football Team <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell presented the following Resolution to the A. L. Brown High <br />School Football Team members and Coach Bruce Hardin. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1998-06 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> HONORING THE <br />A. L. BROWN HIGH SCHOOL WONDERS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the A. L. Brown High School Varsity Football Team, <br />the "Wonders", became the North Carolina High School Athletic <br />Association 3A Football Champions on December 12, 1997, having <br />defeated the football team of Northeast Guilford High School 34-12; <br />and <br /> WHEREAS, the championship victory by the Wonders was the <br />culmination of a highly successful 1997 football season, winning 15 <br />games and losing only one game; and <br /> WHEREAS, the team's pride and commitment to excellence was <br />symbolized by dedication and hard work both on and off the playing <br />field; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Wonders, through their display of good <br />sportsmanship, motivation, and inspired team play, have brought <br />great honor not only to the team members but to the school and the <br />entire community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners salutes the A. L. Brown High School Wonders for an <br />outstanding 1997 football season and the State 3A championship and <br />extends this expression of pride and commendation to each team <br />member, Coach Bruce Hardin and his staff, Principal Bob Shinn and <br />all others involved with the football program at A. Industrial <br />Incentive Grant Agreement <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the request by Mr. J. Roy Davis, Jr., <br /> <br /> <br />
