Industrial Incentive Grant period until January 1, 1998 with the <br />Base Tax Assessment time of January 1, 1996 to remain unchanged. <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizin~ Submission of the FY 99 Communit~ Transportation Pro,ram <br />Grant Application <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 1998-04 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Applicant Seeking Permission to Apply for CTP Funding, <br /> Enter Into Agreement with the <br /> North Carolina Department of Transportation <br /> and to Provide the Necessary Assurances <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 2B of Chapter 136 of the North Carolina General <br />Statutes and the Governor of North Carolina have designated the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as the agency responsible <br />for administering federal and state public transportation funds; and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has <br />received a grant from the US Department of Transportation, Federal <br />Transit Administration and funds from the North Carolina General <br />Assembly to provide assistance for rural public transportation <br />projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of these transportation funds is to provide <br />grant monies to local agencies for the provision of rural public <br />transportation services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County hereby assures and certifies that it will <br />comply with the federal and State Statutes, regulations, executive <br />orders, Section 5333(b) Warranty, and all administrative requirements <br />which relates to the applications made to and grants received from the <br />Federal Transit Administration, as well as the provisions of Section <br />1001 of Title 18, U.S.C. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the County Manager of Cabarrus <br />County is hereby authorized to submit a grant application for federal <br />and state funding, make the necessary assurances and certifications and <br />be empowered to enter into an agreement with the NCDOT to provide rural <br />public transportation services. <br /> <br />Budget Amendment - School/Park Improvements <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following budget amendment. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />AMOUNT: $160,000.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To record receipt of $160,000.00 from Cabarrus County Schools <br />in order to purchase playground equipment, etc. per bid awarded to Basnight and <br />Associates in the total amount of $651,980.00. <br /> <br /> Present Approved <br />Account No. Budget <br />01-6-81-10-911 0.00 <br /> Contribution from Cabarrus <br />County Schools <br />01-9-81-10-842-201 497,748.00 <br /> School/Park Improvements <br /> Sub Line Item Number <br /> 01-9-81-10-842-005 <br /> <br /> Revised <br />Increase Decrease Budget <br />160,000.00. 160,000.00 <br /> <br />160,000.00 <br /> <br />657,748.00 <br /> <br />Amendment of Solid Waste Ordinance with Respect to Franchise Terms and Disposal <br /> <br />Franchises - Second Readinq <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted on second reading the following amendment <br />to the Solid Waste Ordinance (Sections 58-112 and 58-115 of the Code of <br />Ordinances). <br /> <br /> <br />
