W. Flowe Park <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board approved the formal State Parks <br />and Recreation Trust Funds Grant application for the W. W. Flowe Park and <br />authorized the Chair to sign all necessary grant forms on behalf of Cabarrus <br />County. The grant application requested funding of $250,000.00 to construct <br />an athletic complex at the Park including four baseball/softball and two <br />soccer fields. Subject to approval of the grant, local matching funds would <br />be budgeted in fiscal year 1999-2000. <br /> <br />Award of Tax Revaluation CAMA Software Bid (Cott Systems, Inc. - $128,571.00 <br />Initial Bid Amount; $6,000.00 Modification Cost; $12,107.00 Annual Cost for <br />Maintenance/Support) <br /> <br />The following bids were received for Tax Revaluation software: <br /> <br /> Initial Modification <br />Company Bid Amount Cost <br />Cott Systems 128,571.00 6,000.00 <br />Business Records 113,062.00 Unknown <br /> Corp. <br />CPS Systems, Inc. 192,200.00 <br />Proval Corp. 136,700.00 <br />Cole-Layer-Trumble 213,500.00 <br />Co. <br /> <br />Annual Cost for <br />Maintenance/Support <br />12,107.00 <br />32,000.00 <br /> <br />N/A 44,800.00 <br />20,000.00 14,400.00 <br />N/A 22,390.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the bid for the Tax <br />Revaluation CAMA Software to Cott Systems, Inc. and authorized the County <br />Manager to negotiate and sign the contract upon final terms being agreed <br />upon. <br /> <br />Adoption of Resolution of Support for Protection of Clarke.Creek Watershed <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 1998-39 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT <br /> FOR <br />PROTECTION OF CL~LRKE CREEK WATERSHED <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners supports efforts to <br />protect water quality and natural heritage sites in Cabarrus County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners previously adopted <br />a watershed management plan for Coddle Creek and encouraged the <br />implementation of this plan in watersheds throughout Cabarrus County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Clarke Creek was one of two streams selected in the lower <br />Yadkin River basin by the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin Association for stream <br />restoration efforts; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners previously <br />supported a grant application by the Land Tr~st for Central North Carolina to <br />the Clean Water Management Trust Fund for funds to acquire wetlands on Clarke <br />Creek; and <br /> WHEREAS, the protection of these wetlands on Clarke Creek is dependent <br />on the protection of water quality in Clarke Creek watershed; and <br /> WHEREAS, a regional approach to protecting Clarke Creek is necessary <br />because its watershed lies in both Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties; and <br />WHEREAS, the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin Association is currently <br />seeking to obtain funding from North Carolina's Clean Water Management Trust <br />Fund for the purposes of restoring streambanks along Clarke Creek and its <br />tributaries; and <br /> <br /> <br />
