257 <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizing County Purchasin8 Anent to Dispose of Two 1991 Ford <br />Responder Type III Ambulances for Emergency Services <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1997-0~ <br /> <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ) <br /> ) <br />CABARRUS COUNTY ) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, General Statute 160A, Article 12, set forth procedures <br />and requirements for cities in selling and disposing of property. <br />Procedures include private negotiation and sale, sale by sealed bids, <br />auction, upset bids, and exchanges; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this board desires to dispose of (2) 1991 Ford <br />Responder Type III ambulances. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of <br />Cabarrus County as follows: <br /> <br /> That in accordance with the provisions of General Statute 160A- <br />267, this Board authorizes the County Purchasing Agent to dispose of <br />the (2) 1991 Ford Responder Type III ambulances by advertisement and <br />sealed bid at a minimum price of not less than $13,000.00. Be it <br />further stipulated that should the minimum price not be received, the <br />ambulances will remain as backup units in the Emergency Services <br />Department. <br /> <br />Adopted this 17th day of March, 1997. <br /> <br /> /s/ Sue B. Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />Proclamation - County Government Week <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK <br />April 13 19, 1997 <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />county government is one of the oldest forms of local <br />government in the United States; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Cabarrus County and the other county governments in North <br />Carolina play a key role in the governmental partnership <br />as the local provider and facilitator of important <br />services for the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Cabarrus County and its employees provide a wide spectrum <br />of services to meet the needs of the public, including <br />such programs as health care, child and elder care, <br />environmental protection, social services, job training, <br />parks and recreation, emergency medical services and law <br />enforcement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Cabarrus County serves as a major partner in the public <br />education system, contributing its share of funding to <br />elementary-secondary schools as well as community <br />colleges; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners proclaims the week of April 13 19, 1997 as <br /> <br /> <br />
