264 <br /> <br />Historic Cabarrus, Inc. for the "Old Cabarrus County Courthouse" for a term <br />ending June 30, 2003. The County will be responsible for maintenance and <br />incidental costs totaling $6,500.00 as follows: Heating and Air Contract, <br />$900.00; Dover Elevator Maintenance, $1,000.00; Security Contracts, $1,000.00; <br />Annual Contract Cleanup of Building, $1,300.00; Vacuum Equipment, $1,100.00; and <br />Oversee Public Use of Building $1,200.00. This amount may be adjusted annually <br />during the course of budget negotiations as necessary. The Lease as approved by <br />the Board is on file in the Office of the County Manager and hereby included by <br />reference as a part of the minutes. <br /> <br />6pproval nunc pro tunc of Fireworks Display by Zambelli Fireworks Company at the <br />Charlotte Motor Speedway on April 19~ 1997 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved nunc pro tunc the fireworks display by <br />Zambelli Fireworks Company at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on April 19, 1997 at <br />9:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Proclamation -Sotl and Water Stewardship Week (April 26 May 4, 1997) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />our well-being depends on the production of ample food, <br />fiber and other products of the soil; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the quality and quantity of these products depend on the <br />conservation, wise use and proper management of soil and <br />water resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />protection of our water from pollution depends on sound <br />conservation practices; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />conservation districts provide a practical and <br />democratic organization through which landowners take <br />the initiative to conserve and make proper use of these <br />resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the conservation movement is carrying forward a program <br />of soil and water conservation in cooperation with <br />numerous partners. <br /> <br />THEREFORE I, in full appreciation of the value of our soil and water <br />to the public welfare, and desiring to honor those who protect those <br />resources, do hereby proclaim April 26 through May 4, 1997 <br /> <br />Soil and Water Stewardship Week <br /> <br />In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal <br />of Cabarrus County to be affixed. <br /> <br />/s/ Sue Casper <br /> <br />Signature <br />April 21, 1997 <br />Date <br /> <br />Appzoval of Application by the Richfield-Misenheimer Volunteer Fire Department <br />to Provide First Responder Care <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the application by Richfield-Misenheimer <br />Volunteer Fire Department to provide first responder care as approved by the <br />First Responder Advisory Board. <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizing the Cabarrus County Board of Education to Have an Equa! <br />Compensation Package as the Kannapolts City Board of Education <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br /> <br />
