264 Historic Cabarrus, Inc. for the "Old Cabarrus County Courthouse" for a term ending June 30, 2003. The County will be responsible for maintenance and incidental costs totaling $6,500.00 as follows: Heating and Air Contract, $900.00; Dover Elevator Maintenance, $1,000.00; Security Contracts, $1,000.00; Annual Contract Cleanup of Building, $1,300.00; Vacuum Equipment, $1,100.00; and Oversee Public Use of Building $1,200.00. This amount may be adjusted annually during the course of budget negotiations as necessary. Proclamation -Sotl and Water Stewardship Week (April 26 May 4, 1997) UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Proclamation. PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, our well-being depends on the production of ample food, fiber and other products of the soil; and WHEREAS, the quality and quantity of these products depend on the conservation, wise use and proper management of soil and water resources; and WHEREAS, protection of our water from pollution depends on sound conservation practices; and WHEREAS, conservation districts provide a practical and democratic organization through which landowners take the initiative to conserve and make proper use of these resources; and WHEREAS, the conservation movement is carrying forward a program of soil and water conservation in cooperation with numerous partners.
