The Transportation Advisory Board adopted
the Plan on December 5, 1995.

Mr. Mike Rose of the Centralina Council of Governments presented a general
overview of the updated TDP. He outlined the following four service delivery
alternatives: (1) Continue with current system; (2) Turn the program over to one
of the human service agencies; (3) Create a private non-profit agency; (4) Modify
the current system using grant funds to hire a full-time coordinator. According
to Mr. Rose, the Advisory Board had voted to recommend the hiring of the full-
time coordinator to be assigned to the Planning Department. In conclusion, Mr.
Rose explained that the TDP lays a foundation for transportation services and can
be modified.

The motion by Commissioner Mills to accept the Transportation Development
Plan as written in principle contingent upon the fact that the County is not
locked into hiring a full-time transportation coordinator died for lack of a
second.
