Barnhart, Chairman <br /> <br />Declaration of Surplus Property <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell requested the Board to declare a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro as <br />surplus property. This car was confiscated by the Sheriff's Department and used <br />as an undercover car. It is no longer useful for law enforcement work, and plans <br />are to sell the vehicle by negotiated offer, subject to upset bid. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board by resolution declared a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro <br />automobile, VIN ~lG1FP87F6FN123613, as surplus property. <br /> <br />Appointments Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority <br /> <br /> Commissioner Casper nominated Mr. Sherrtll Laney for appointment to the <br />Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority. Commissioner <br />Fennel nominated Mr. Bob Suddreth for appointment. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to close nominations and to accept by <br />acclamation the appointment of Mr. Sherrill Laney and Mr. Bob Suddreth to the <br />Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority for terms of six <br />years ending January 10, 2002. <br /> <br />Discussion of School Facility Plans <br /> <br /> The Board discussed the facility plans for the Cabarrus County Schools and <br />the Kannapolis City Schools, includingconcerns about the proposed site for the <br />new Concord Middle School. There was general consensus to ask the School Boards <br />to lower the bond requirements to $30 to $40 million. Chairman Barnhart and <br />Commissioner Niblock will discuss the matter with School officials. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Barnhart <br />adjourned the meeting. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
