32 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board accep6ed in principle the proposed transfer of <br />Animal Control from the Health Department to the Sheriff's Department with the <br />Cqunty Manager, the Sheriff and Animal Control, and in conjunction with the City <br />of Concord and the proposed merger of animal control activities,, to proceed and <br />bring a final recommendation to the Board. <br /> <br /> A letter was received from Concord Mayor George Ltles staling that the <br />Concord Board of Aldermen had endorsed the concept of consolidating animal <br />control activities within Cabarrus County. This included the City's offer for <br />a long-term lease of property on which the County will construct and operate a <br />county-wide shelter. <br /> <br />Water and Sewer District <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart adjourned the meeting until the conclusion of the Water <br />and SeWer District meeting. <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart reconvened the meeting of the Board of Commissioners. <br />Budget Amendment <br /> <br /> Commissioner Mills withdrew the budget amendment which had been added to <br />the agenda. <br /> <br />INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart opened the meeting for informal public comments and asked <br />if'anyone were present who wished to address the Board. <br /> <br /> There was no one present to address the Board, and Chairman Barnhart closed <br />that portion of the meeting. <br /> <br />Closed Sessio~ <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session as authorized by <br />North Carolina General Statutes 143-318.11(a)(3)(4). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to end the closed session. <br /> <br /> No action was reported from the closed session. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Barnhart <br />adjourned the meeting at 10:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
