93 <br /> <br />Request for Matchin8 Assistance from the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Soccer <br />Association <br /> <br /> Mr. Terry Jones of the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Soccer Association requested <br />funding of $850.78 to complete the lighting of the soccer field at Mt. Pleasant <br />Middle School. Much of the work and materials have been donated for this <br />project. Remaining costs include the payment for the use of a bucket truck and <br />operator by the City of Concord to set the poles at an estimated cost of $140.00 <br />to $280.00 and for 1,500 feet of copper wiring at a cost of $570.00. <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart requested the County Manager to contact the City of <br />Concord regarding the possibility of the City providing the truck and operator <br />at no charge. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager to work out the <br />details to assist the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Soccer Association in lighting the <br />soccer field at Mt. Pleasant Middle School at a cost not exceeding $850.78. <br /> <br />Community Based Alternatives Task Force Program Recommendations <br />A_~. Uwharrie Group Home <br />B. Home-Based Services <br />C. Temporary Shelter Care <br />D~ Psycholosical Services to Juvenile Court <br /> <br /> Mr. John Day briefly reviewed the program recommendations from the <br />Community Based Alternatives Task Force. Total program cost is $397,445.00. <br />State grant funding provides $210,726.00, and provider agencies contribute <br />$59,544.00. The County's share is $127,174.00. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried,~the Board approved the Community Based Alternatives program <br />agreements as recommended by the Community Based Alternatives Task Force and <br />authorized the Chairman to sign the appropriate contracts on behalf of the <br />County. After said proceedings had been considered and reviewed by the <br />Board of Commissioners, Chairman Barnhart introduced the following resolution <br />which was read: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE SPECIAL BOND REFERENDUM HELD <br />IN THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA, ON MAY 7, 1996 UPON THE <br />QUESTION OF APPROVING $49,000,000 SCHOOL BONDS <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Cabarrus: <br /> Section 1. The Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Cabarrus having received from the Cabarrus County Board of Elections <br />a certified copy of the proceedings of said Board of Elections taken <br />on May 9, 1996, evidencing said Board's determination of the result <br />of the canvass of the returns of the special bond referendum held in <br />the County of Cabarrus on May 7, 1996 upon the question of approving <br />$49,000,000 School Bonds of said County, does hereby declare and <br />certify the result of said referendum to be the result which is set <br />forth in the following statement of the result of said referendum, <br />which statement has been prepared by said Board of Commissioners: <br /> <br /> <br />
