94 <br /> <br /> STATEMENT OF THE RESULT <br /> of the <br /> SPECIAL BOND REFERENDUM <br /> held in the <br />COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> on May 7, 1996 <br /> UPON THE QUESTION OF APPROVING <br /> $49,000,000 SCHOOL BONDS <br /> <br /> At a special bond referendum held in the County of Cabarrus on <br />· May 7, 1996, 68,082 voters were registered and qualified to vote. <br /> <br /> At said referendum 12,976 votes were cast for the order <br />adopted on March 7, 1996, authorizing not exceeding $49,000,000 <br />School Bonds of the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, for the <br />purpose of providing funds, with any other available funds, for <br />erecting additional school buildings and other school plant <br />facilities, replacing, remodeling, enlarging and reconstructing <br />existing school buildings and other school plant facilities and <br />acquiring any necessary land, rights-of-way and equipment therefor, <br />in order to provide additional school facilities in said County to <br />maintain the nine months' school term as required by Section 2 of <br />Article IX of the Constitution, and authorizing the levy of taxes in <br />an amount sufficient to pay the principal of and the interest on <br />said bonds, and 7,036 votes were cast against said order, and a <br />majority of the qualified voters of said County who voted thereon at <br />said referendum having voted in favor of the approval of said order, <br />said order was thereby approved and is in force and effect. <br /> <br />Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of <br />Cabarrus, North Carolina <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Clerk to the Board of Commissioners shall file <br />a copy of the foregoing statement of the result of said referendum <br />in her office and shall publish such statement once in The Charlotte <br />Observer (Cabarrus Neighbors Edition), The Concord Tribune and The <br />Daily Independent. A statement in substantially the following form <br />shall be published with the foregoing statement: Any action or <br />proceeding challenging the regularity or validity of this bond <br />referendum must be begun within 30 days after May 23, 1996. <br /> <br />Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of <br />Cabarrus,' North Carolina <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel, the <br />foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE SPECIAL <br />BOND REFERENDUM HELD IN THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH cAROLINA ON MAY 7, 1996 <br />UPON THE QUESTION OF APPROVING $49,000,000 SCHOOL BONDS" was passed by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Chairman Barnhart and Co~mmissioners Fennel, Casper and Mills. <br />Noes: None <br /> <br />Home and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael L. Murphy, Aging Director, reviewed the proposed Home and <br />Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan for the Department of Aging, Department <br />of Social Services and the L.I.F.E. Center. The recommended funding was as <br />follows: Block Grant Funding - $338,306.00; Local Match $37,589.00; and USDA <br />Reimbursement $28,873.00. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner CasFer, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the proposed FY 1997 Home and Community <br />Care Block Grant Funding Plan as recommended by the Home and Community Care Block <br />Grant Committee. The proposed Plan included the following block grant funding and <br />required local match. <br /> <br /> <br />
