309 <br /> <br />Setbacks - No required off-street parking shall be located within <br />the setback areas. <br /> <br />Proposed <br />Section 10-5(4). Specific Design Standards for Off-Street Parking. <br /> <br />Required Setbacks for Off-Street Parking and Loading Areas - No <br />parking shall be located within the buffer yards as required in <br />Chapter 11 of this ordinance. If a buffer yard is not required, no <br />parking shall be located within ten (10) feet of a side or rear <br />property line or within ten (10) feet of the front base setback <br />line. Corner lots shall be measured as to have two front base <br />setback lines. These ten (10) feet areas must be appropriately <br />landscaped as required by this Ordinance. Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />Westside By-Pass Public Hearing <br /> <br /> Mr. Newton reported that the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />has scheduled a public hearing on February 16, 1995 regarding the proposed <br />Westslde By-Pass. <br /> <br />OUR REGION TOMORROW Strategic Planning Update - Mr Lee Armour <br /> <br /> Mr. Lee Armour, Executive Director of the Centraltna Council of <br />Governments, presented an update on the OUR REGION TOMORROW project. The project <br />Steering Committee has identified the following three study areas: Workforce <br />Preparation; Infrastructure; and Cohesiveness and Collaborative Action Among <br />Jurisdictions. A Task Force will be established to study each of these areas. <br />The Board will be asked to make an appointment to each Task Force by March, 1995. <br /> <br />Request for the Social Services Department to Submit Grant Application for <br />Funding for Use in Programming the Cabarrus Public Assistance Single Application <br />- Mr, Jim Cook <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Cook, Social Services Director, requested approval to submit a <br />grant application to the Cannon Foundation for $50,000.00 in funding to be <br />matched with County funding up to $50,000.00 identified from savings within the <br />current-year Social Services budget. The grant would be utilized to purchase <br />computer programmer services for programming of the Cabarrus public assistance <br />single application within the local area network being installed at the <br />Department. Mr. Cook presented a video showing the large volume of paperwork <br />previously required at the Department as compared to the current single <br />application which has been developed and implemented by Department staff. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Olio-Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Department of Social Services to <br />submit a grant application to the Cannon Foundation for funding up to $50,000.00 <br />to be matched with County funds identified from savings within the current Social <br />Services budget. <br /> <br />Appointments Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Olio-Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board added a second at-large member to the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission, thereby expanding the Commission to twelve (12) members. <br />The first appointment to the new position will be for a term of two (2) years and <br />thereafter will be three (3) years for each term. <br /> <br /> <br />
