5O5 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Cabarrus County <br />Ambulance Franchise Ordinance, American Medical Response of North <br />Carolina, Inc. d/b/a Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc. requests <br />permission to be the assignee to operate the non-exclusive non- <br />emergency ambulance service now being operated by Char-Meck <br />Ambulance Service, Inc. provided the financial arrangement between <br />American Medical Response of North Carolina, Inc. and Sarah and <br />Dempsey Brooks/Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc. is finalized; and <br /> WHEREAS, based upon the application and the information <br />presented to the Board, the Board of Commissioners mak'es the <br />following findings: <br /> (1) That the public convenience and necessity requires <br /> 'the proposed ambulance service offered by American Medical <br /> Response of North Carolina, Inc. d/b/a Char-Meck Ambulance <br /> Service, Inc.; <br /> (2) That each ambulance to be operated by American <br /> Medical Response of North Carolina, Inc. d/b/a Char-Meck <br /> Ambulance Service, Inc. and its required equipment has been <br /> certified by the State of North Carolina as acceptable to the <br /> type of franchise requested; <br /> (3) That American Medical Response of North Carolina, <br /> Inc. d/b/a Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc. and its officers <br /> are responsible persons to conduct or work in the proposed <br /> business; <br /> (4) That only duly certified Emergency Medical <br /> Technicians will be employed in operations and as attendants <br /> by American Medical Response of North Carolina, Inc. d/b/a <br /> Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc.; and <br /> (5) That the requirements of the Cabarrus County <br /> Ambulance Franchise Ordinance and all applicable laws and <br /> ordinances have been met; Now, therefore, be it <br /> RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />grants American Medical Response of North Carolina, Inc. d/b/a <br />Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc. authority to continue to operate <br />the non-exclusive non-emergency ambulance service franchise granted <br />to Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc. on February 7, 1994 until the <br />end of its current term; and be it <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED, that the permission granted herein for <br />Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc. to assign its franchise to <br />American Medical Response of North Carolina, Inc. d/b/a Char-Meck <br />Ambulance Service, Inc. is granted pursuant to Section 5 of the <br />"Cabarrus County Ambulance Franchise Ordinance;" and be it <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED, that the franchise must be assigned on or <br />before October 1, 1995. <br /> ADOPTED the 31st day of July , 1995. <br /> /s/ Frankie F. Hartsell, Jr. <br />County Attorney (COUNTY SEAL) <br /> <br />Consideration of Retransfer of the Barbee Property at the Coddle Creek Reservoir <br /> Mr, Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr, <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell discussed the proposed retransfer of 2.03 acres of property <br />at the Coddle Creek Reservoir to Henry T. Barbee, Jr., and wife, Dorothy C. <br />Barbee, for the sum of $2,000.00 per acre or $4~060.00. Also, he stated the need <br />for the County to acquire 0.23 acres from the Barbee's and proposed that this <br />property be purchased at a cost of $2,000.00 per acre or $460.00. However, Mr. <br />Hartsell reported that the Barbee/s have not yet agreed to an amount for the <br />purchase of the property. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Olio-Mills, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />with Commissioners Olio-Mills, Fennel, and Niblock and Chairman Barnhart voting <br />for, the Board authorized the County Attorney to offer Henry T. Barbee, Jr. and <br />wife a like amount of $2,000.00 per acre for the 0.23 acre to be acquired by the <br />County at the Coddle Creek Reservoir; and if the Barbee's accept, the Board will <br />declare the 2.03 acres surplus at the next Board meeting and authorize the <br />retransfer of the 2.03 acres to the Barbee's. <br /> <br /> <br />
