536 <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ADULT DAY CARE WEEK <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br /> There are over 3000 Adult Day Centers nationwide and <br /> over 70 centers in North Carolina and two centers in <br /> Cabarrus County, providing a safe and positive <br /> environment to partially disabled individuals in need of <br /> daytime assistance or supervision; and <br /> Adult Day Care Centers provide opportunities for social <br /> interactions to otherwise isolated individuals and <br /> assist them in attaining and maintaining a maximum level <br /> of independence; and <br /> These centers are bridging the gap between long-term <br /> institutionalization and independent living; and <br /> Adult Day Care provides respite and eases the burden of <br /> the familial caregivers who are providing care at home <br /> for their loved ones; and <br /> Cabarrus County is the home of L.I.F.E. CENTERS, INC., <br /> a national model providing quality care in two locations <br /> for this special population of older adults. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jeffrey L. Barnhart, Chairman of the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, by virtue of the power and <br />authority vested in me by the laws of the County, do hereby proclaim <br />September 17-23, 1995 as: <br /> ADULT DAY CARE WEEK IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br />and urge the citizens of Cabarrus County to recognize this event and <br />to participate by paying tribute to the dedicated people who provide <br />this valuable service to older adults. <br /> IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed <br />the official seal of the County of Cabarrus this 5th day of <br />September, 1995. <br /> <br /> /s/ Jeffrey L. Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />Proclamation - Hunting and Fishing Day in Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel with <br />Chairman Barnhart and Commissioners Fennel, Casper and Olio-Mills voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />HUNTING AND FISHING DAY <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, hunting and fishing have always been an important part <br /> of the American tradition; and <br />WHEREAS, for over 100 years, sportsmen and sportswomen have been <br /> in the forefront of the conservation movement, providing <br /> the impetus and the financing for many of the wildlife <br /> conservation programs existing today; and <br />WHEREAS, as individuals, and through their organizations, hunters <br /> and anglers volunteer countless hours of their time for <br /> conservation projects and to educate others about the <br /> wise management of our natural resources; and <br />WHEREAS, we commend the responsible hunters and anglers for their <br /> efforts on behalf of wildlife and their contributions to <br /> conservation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jeffrey L. Barnhart, Chairman of the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim September <br />23, 1995, as "Hunting and Fishing Day in Cabarrus County" and call <br />upon all the citizens of the county to join with hunters, anglers, <br />and other responsible conservationists to ensure the wise use and <br />proper management of our natural resources to benefit future <br />generations. <br /> Adopted this 5th day of September, 1995. <br /> <br /> <br />
