CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH <br />IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br /> the children of Cabarrus County are provided paternity, <br /> support establishment and enforcement services by the <br /> Child Support Unit of the Department of Social Services; <br /> and <br /> there is a need to make the public aware of this service <br /> as one that is available to all citizens who have <br /> dependent children in the home and receive no child <br /> support from their natural parents; and <br /> February is traditionally recognized as the Heart/Love <br /> Month and emphasis is placed on giving to those persons <br /> you love; and <br /> there is an ongoing need for parents to provide <br /> financial support for their children as an expression of <br /> love. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Co~issioners does hereby proclaim the month of February, 1994, <br />as <br /> CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br />and urges all parents who are currently under court order to <br />regularly pay their child support. <br /> <br />This the third day of January, 1994. <br /> <br />/s/ Jeffrey L. Barnhart <br /> Chairman, Cabarrus County <br /> Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart expressed the Board's gratitude to the members of the <br />Child Support Unit at the Department of Social Services for their work. <br /> <br />Request for Renewal of Non-EmergencyAmbulance Franchise by Char-MeckAmbulance <br />Service, Inc, - Setting a Public Hearing <br /> <br /> The Board received the formal request dated December 20, 1993 from Mrs. <br />Sarah Brooks, Chief Executive Officer of Char-Meck Ambulance Service, Inc., for <br />the renewal of the non-emergency ambulance franchise in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for January 18, 1994 at 7:00 <br />P.M. concerning the non-emergency ambulance franchise renewal request by Char- <br />Meck Ambulance Service, Inc. <br /> <br />Request for a Social Worker II Position for the Child Service Coordination <br /> <br />Program at the Health Department. <br /> <br /> Ms. Martha Sanders, Maternal and Child Health Program Supervisor, presented <br />the Health Board's request for a Service Coordinator (Social Worker II) position <br />for the Child Service Coordination Program. The Service Coordinator would assist <br />families with children age one (1) day to three (3) years who have a special need <br />which puts them at risk for developmental problems. The position would be funded <br />by Medicaid reimbursements. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of a Service Coordinator <br />(Social Worker II) position for the Child Service Coordination Program at the <br />Health Department and adopted the following budget amendment. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH <br />AMOUNT: $20,160.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br /> <br /> <br />
