NORTH CAROLINA STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REQUEST FOR ADDITION TO STATE MAINTAINED SECONDARY ROAD SYSTEM North Carolina County of Cabarrus Road Description Relocation of Portion of NG 73 WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation for the addition of roads to the System. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to review the above-described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets established standards and criteria. Appointment - Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (1) The Board received the recommendation from the Mr. Harold Vlckers, Chairman of the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board, and from the Harrisburg Town Council for the appointment of Mr. Gary Goers as the extraterritorial jurisdiction member of the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board. As indicated in the letter from Ms. Linda Kee, Town Clerk, Mr. Goers would serve as a regular member of the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board and as an alternate member of the Harrisburg Zoning Board of Adjustment. Commissioner Fennel nominated Mr. Gary Goers for appointment to the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board to fill the position previously held by Ms. Janine Heater. There were no other nominations. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and unanimously carried, nominations were closed and Mr. Gary Goers was appointed by acclamation as an extraterritorial jurisdiction member to the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board. Mr. Goers will complete an unexpired term ending July 1, 1996. Appointment - Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority (2) By consensus, the Board tabled the appointments to the Authority until a later date. Appointments - Domiciliary Home Community Advisory Committee (4) The Board acknowledged the resignation of Ms. Anna Howard McKnight and Ms. Joy Bass from the Domiciliary Home Community Advisory Committee. In addition, the terms of appointment for Ms. Vickie Harris and Ms. Bertha Williams ended on December 31, 1993. Ms. Harris and Ms. Williams were not interested in reappointment. Commissioners Casper nominated Ms. Catherine Carriker and Ms. Katie Foster for appointment to the Domiciliary Home Community Advisory Committee. UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and unanimously carried, nominations were closed and Ms. Catherine Garriker and Ms. Katie Foster were appointed to the Domiciliary Home Community Advisory Committee for terms of one year ending December 31, 1994. The remaining positions will be filled at a later date. Appointments - Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee Commissioner Casper nominated Dr. Oren Hill and Ms. Mae Block for reappointment to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for terms of three years. She further nominated Ms. Marie Pless and Mr. Dale Goodrich to the Committee for initial terms of one year to fill the positions previously held by Ms. Katie Foster and Ms. Catherine Carriker.
