24 <br /> <br /> The Board will accept applications from persons interested in appointment <br />to the Sports Authority as recommended. Membership on the Authority will include <br />the following: On9 County Commissioner; County Parks and Recreation Director (or <br />his designee); Concord Parks and Recreation Director (or his designee; three <br />sports organization representatives; and three business representative. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart announced that the Community Based Alternatives Task <br />Force will accept applications for grant funds through February 28, 1994. <br />Programs aimed at reducing the number of children committed to training school <br />by providing community-based alternatives will be considered. Approximately <br />$132,530.00 will be available from the'State with a required local match of 30 <br />percent. Applications are available at the County Manager's Office. <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart read a memorandum from Mr. Gerald A. Newton, Director of <br />Planning, Zoning, and Building inspections, regarding recent concerns over the <br />AO District Lot Size as required by the new Zoning Ordinance. According to Mr. <br />Newton, the staff intends to present a text amendment to the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission on January 20 that will reduce the lot size from the current five (5) <br />acres to one (1) acre, One acre lots represent the former zoning district's lot <br />size. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Carpenter announced that a "Stop the Violence" public meeting <br />would be held at the Senior Center at '1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 22. <br /> <br />ExecUtive Session - Pending Litigation <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into executive session to discuss <br />pending litigation. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the executive session was adjourned. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the executive session. <br /> <br />Recess of Meeting <br /> <br /> There being no further business to.come before the Board, Chairman Barnhart <br />recessed the meeting at 9:50 P.M. until 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 22, 1994. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
