Therefore, 10 hours will be <br />donated to Employee A and 40 hours will be donated to Employee B meeting <br />half (50%) of each employee's needs. <br />Donated leave will remain in the "bank" for future needs of employees with <br />qualifying medical conditions. <br />Approved recipients may start receiving shared leave as of the first of <br />the pay period following the pay period in which they go into a Leave <br />Without Pay status. <br /> <br />IV. Effective Date of Policy - January 1, 1994 <br /> <br />Proposed Permanent Marker to Honor Cabarrus County Law Enforcement Officers <br />Killed in the Line of Duty - Sheriff Robert Canaday <br /> <br /> Sheriff Robert Canaday requested authorization to work with individuals to <br />raise funds to erect a permanent marker to honor Cabarrus County law enforcement <br />officers killed in the line of duty. Representatives from other law enforcement <br />agencies in the county will be involved in developing plans for the monument. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized Sheriff Robert Canaday to work with <br />individuals interested in the placement of a permanent monument honoring Cabarrus <br />County Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty, and to work out <br />details, location and design of the monument. The Sheriff will bring the final <br />plans for the monument back to the Board for approval and final authorization for <br />placement on County property. <br /> <br />Computer Aided Dispatch and Records System - Sheriff Canaday <br /> <br /> Sheriff Robert Canaday discussed the need to upgrade the Sheriff's <br />Department computer aided dispatch and records system. This project would <br />include the development of an integrated computerized system for records, warrant <br />control, jail records, photo imaging, gun permit, civil, crime reporting, and <br />single button transfer of ANI/ALI E-911 information from E-911 system to a <br />computer aided dispatch system. He estimated the cost of the project at <br />$180,000.00 to $225,000.00 to be funded with asset forfeiture funds. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized Sheriff Canaday to develop <br />specifications and solicit bids for the upgrade of the Sheriff's Department <br />Computer Aided Dispatch and Records system. The project will be funded with <br />asset forfeiture funds. <br /> <br />Road Closing Request Gwy_n Street - Public Hearing - 7:00 P,M. <br /> <br /> At 7:05 P.M., Chairman Barnhart stated that this was the day and hour for <br />a public hearing on the request to close Gwyn Street. He asked if anyone were <br />present to speak for or against the closing of Gwyn Street. <br /> <br /> Mr. T. Cameron Finley of Venture Properties spoke in support of the closing <br />of Gwyn Street. He stated a new Lowes Center would be built on the site. <br /> <br /> There was no one else present to address the Board, and Chairman Barnhart <br />closed the public hearing. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the "Order Closing Easement Dedicated for <br />Public Road" and a Resolution requesting the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation abandon Gwyn Street from the State system. <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />ORDER CLOSING EASEMENT <br />DEDICATED FOR PUBLIC ROAD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the December 6, 1993, meeting of the Board of <br />Commissioners for Cabarrus County (the "Board"), the Board <br />acknowledged receipt of a Petition to adopt a Resolution and Order <br />closing Gwyn Street (S.R. 1417), Concord, Cabarrus County, North <br />Carolina, as is more particularly described in maps on file in the <br /> <br /> <br />
