85 WHEREAS, each year during April, organ transplant recipients, donor families and organ procurement agencies such as Lifeshare of The Carolinas dedicate special efforts to focus attention on this vital need; and WHEREAS, by signing and carrying a Uniform Donor Card and committing to organ and tissue donation, those who have compassion and concern for other human beings may create a miracle for those in need when they themselves depart. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners in support of the national observation does hereby proclaim April 17 23, 1994, as ORGAN AND TISSUE DONATION AWARENESS WEEK in Cabarrus County and urges all eligible citizens to consider the humanitarian aspects of Uniform Donor Cards and to inform themselves of organ and tissue donations through contact with Lifeshare of the Carolinas.
