The Finance Department employees have
begun the computerized process of preparing amended returns for Fiscal Years
1992-93 and 1993-94. However, since computer tapes are not available for Fiscal
Year 1991-92, it will be necessary to manually generate the proper amounts for
that year through various hard copy reports on file in the Finance Department.
An auditing firm has proposed to prepare this report on a contingency fee of 25
percent of the first $50,000.00 of resultant refunds, 20 percent of the next
$50,000.00, and 15 percent over $100,000.00. An estimated annual refund of
$60,000.00 is anticipated for each of the three years for which amended returns
may be filed. The Board agreed to consider this proposal at a later date.
