213 <br /> <br /> Mr. Aubrey Attkisson, EMS Director, and Ms. Theresa Ludwick, Chairman of <br />the EMS Public Relations Committee, accepted the award on behalf of EMS. <br /> <br />County Boundaries Survey <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart briefly discussed the county boundaries survey recently <br />completed by the North Carolina Geodetic Survey Section at the request of Iredell <br />County. The survey showed some discrepancies in the Iredell/Cabarrus and <br />Cabarrus/Rowan boundaries. The counties will work together to resolve the issue. <br />State officials will be present at the Board's next work session to discuss the <br />matter. <br /> <br />Department of Aging - NyC, Housing Trust Fund's Urgent Repair Program Contract <br />Approval Request <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the North Carolina Housing Trust Fund <br />Urgent Repair Program Funding Agreement between the Cabarrus County Department <br />of Aging and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for funds in the amount <br />$14,517.00 to be used to make necessary safety repairs on the homes of very low <br />income home owners in Cabarrus County. No County match is required for the <br />program. <br /> <br />Presentation of Annual Report for the Community Child Protection Team <br /> <br /> Ms. Connie Polk, Social Worker, presented the annual report to the Board <br />regarding the operations of the Community Child Protection Team as required by <br />G.S. 143-576.1. She discussed the history of the multi-disciplinary team, listed <br />the gaps which the team had identified in community resources, and outlined the <br />team's accomplishments and future plans. According to Ms. Polk, there has been <br />a 63 percent increase in the number of children involved in protective service <br />investigations since 1991 with more than 1,762 children involved during 1993. <br /> <br />Budget Amendment Sheriff's Department <br /> <br /> Chief Deputy Larry Anderson briefly discussed the request for additional <br />funding to cover the increase in the State contract price for patrol vehicles. <br />The purchase of the patrol vehicles is consistent with the County's Fleet Policy. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF SHERIFF <br />AMOUNT: $24,000 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Transfer Between Departments/Funds <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: State contract price on patrol cars increased $2,000 each. <br />This was not anticipated.
