291 <br /> <br /> Mr. F. A. "Jack" Rankin questioned the lack of progress in completing the <br />work at the Coddle Creek Reservoir and the relocation of the Plantation Pipeline. <br /> <br /> Ms. Doris King expressed concern about the possibility of the County <br />landfill becoming a regional landfill and the amount of money spent on testing <br />for landfill expansion. <br /> <br /> Ms. Jo Coble stated disappointment about the Board's selection of the <br />modified Option C site. She stated that a portion of Option B could be permitted <br />to create a smaller landfill for use until alternatives for landfilling are <br />available. Ms. Coble also expressed concern that the County will proceed with <br />Option C at this time as well as fill Option B at a later date, thus creating a <br />50-year landfill. <br /> <br /> Ms. Carolyn Cline addressed the Board regarding the selection of the <br />modified Option C site. She expressed concern about the cost of the landfill <br />expansion, the possibility of a regional landfill, and the compliance with the <br />Open Meetings Law by the Solid Waste Subcommittee of the Health Board. <br /> <br /> There was no one else present who wished to address the Board, and Chairman <br />Barnhart closed the Informal Public Comments portion of the meeting. <br /> <br />Closed Session <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Chairman Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss pending <br />litigation and consult with counsel in accordance with NCGS 143-318.11(a)3. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the closed session was terminated. <br /> <br /> No action was reported from the closed session. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 11:15 P.
