Collins <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the retransfer of approximately 1.30 <br />acres of property in the Coddle Creek Reservoir project area to the prior owner, <br />Thelma I. Collins, subject to a Judgment in the Condemnation Action entitled <br />"Cabarrus County v. Thelma I. Collins", File No. 92 CVS 1380. The property is no <br />longer needed for the reservoir project and notice of retransfer was advertised <br />on March 8. <br /> <br />The property is described as follows: <br />Lying and being in No. 3 Township, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, <br />south of State Road 1620 (Macedonia Church Road), and now or <br />formerly adjoining Thelma Collins (Deed Book 188, Page 238), and <br />more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at an iron stake, an old corner of Cabarrus County and <br />Thelma Collins, thence with three (3) old lines of Cabarrus County <br />as follows: (1) N. 31-01-40 E., 261.13 feet to a new iron stake; <br />(2) S. 85-41-46 E. 179.48 feet to a new iron stake; (3) S. 17-23 E. <br />229.68 feet to a new iron stake; thence with two (2) new lines of <br />Cabarrus County as follows: (1) N. 79-10-44 W., 185.86 feet; (2) S. <br />82-35-50 W., 201.52 feet to the BEGINNING, containing 1.30 acres, <br />more or less, as surveyed by HDR Engineering, Inc. on January 14, <br />1993 and revised in February, 1993. <br /> <br />Additions to Agenda <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board added the following items to the agenda: <br />Appointment to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee; Logan Association <br />Crime Watch Request; Nutrition Program Resolution; and Recognition of Soil and <br />Water Conservation District Project winners. <br /> <br />Appointment to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter reported that Ms. Jamie Tucker, who was recently <br />appointed to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee, was unable to fulfill <br />Committee responsibilities due to health reasons. Therefore, she stated that Ms. <br />Tucker would be removed from the Committee at this time with the understanding <br />that she would be reconsidered for appointment at a later date. Chairman <br />Carpenter nominated Mrs. Barbara Hammonds, former member of the Committee, for <br />appointment to fill the position previously held by Ms. Tucker. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the nominations were closed and Mrs. Barbara Hammonds was <br />appointed by acclamation to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for a <br />term of three years ending December 21, 1995. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Proclamation - Blue Ribbon for Kids Day <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />April has been designated Child Abuse Prevention Month <br />by Governor Jim Hunt and the National Committee for <br />Prevention of Child Abuse; and <br /> <br /> <br />
