357

Chairman Carpenter and Commissioner Casper expressed concerns regarding the
lack of communication with Mr. Rowland. Therefore, Mr. Rowland was asked to meet
with them to answer any questions they may have regarding the County Assessor/Tax
Collection Department.

Amendment to the Ordinance Regulating the Use of Frank Liske Park

Mr. Witherspoon reported that a senior citizens group from Mt. Carmel
Baptist Church had rented a portion of Frank Liske Park on Saturday and wished
use a deep fat frying pot over hot coals to fry fish. The current Ordinance
prohibits this type of arrangement except for the use of UL approved equipment.
Mr. Witherspoon stated that Park staff had indicated that the main concern
involved the improper disposal of grease in the Park; however, he pointed out
that the use of UL approved equipment would create this same type of problem.

UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and
unanimously carried, the Board amended "An Ordinance Regulating the Use of Frank
Liske Park" to read as follows:

Section 7. Camping, Fires, Picnic Areas.

o

Bring deep fat frying or grease pots into the Park except in
a UL approved cooker or under conditions specified by the
County Manager.

Garbage Collection by Browning Ferris Industries (BFI)

Chairman Carpenter announced that BFI had mailed additional invoices in
error for residential garbage collection service. She noted that the correct
amount was $29.16 and asked the public to disregard the additional invoices.

INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS

Chairman Carpenter opened the meeting for informal public comments. There
was no one present to address the Board, and Chairman Carpenter closed that
portion of the meeting.

Adjournment

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was
adjourned at 8:25 P.M.

Clerk to the Board
