In addition, the Board agreed to schedule a date for a <br />facilitated retreat during its meeting on November 6. <br /> <br />Board Committee Proposal <br /> <br /> Mr. Witherspoon and Mr. Day proposed that the Board consider the use of a <br />committee system rather than the current Board liaison system. Under the <br />proposed system, two members would form a committee for a group of departments <br />based on service areas. The committee would hold monthly or bi-monthly meetings <br />to go over activities and to make recommendations to the full Board regarding <br />these departments. In addition, any issue regarding these departments would be <br />discussed with the committee prior to the issue being brought to the entire <br />Board. Chairman Carpenter asked Mr. Witherspoon to put together additional <br />information on how the committee system would work. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 7:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
