Cook, Jr., Social Services Director, requested the expansion <br />of the Community Alternatives Program for older and disabled adults in order to <br />serve some 30 additional clients. He stated the program, which serves as an <br />alternative to nursing home placement, will produce some $191,144.00 in <br />additional revenues in excess of expenses and require no additional County <br />funding. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the expansion of the Community <br />Alternatives Program for Older and Disabled Adults as follows: (A) Add new <br />positions, including one (1) Social Worker II, one (1) Social Worker I, and 30 <br />part-time Chore Workers; (B) Elevate Chore Workers and In-Home Service Aide <br />classifications from Salary Grade 48 to 50; (C) Approve budget amendment as set <br />forth below to fund A & B. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br />AMOUNT: $323,347.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT:Supplemental Request (not County funds) <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To appropriate funding for the Community Alternatives <br /> Program (CAP) to provide for additional positions and to elevate Chore <br /> Workers and In-Home Service Aide classifications from Salary Grade 48 to <br /> 50. <br /> <br /> <br />
