As directed by the 404 permit, all <br />mitigation areas must be kept relatively clear (less than 20% cover) <br />of nuisance species of vegetation; in addition, an 80% survival rate <br />is required of NCSU for planted trees during the first four years <br />following planting. For each year during which less than 80% of the <br />installed trees have survived, new trees must be replanted by NCSU <br />to attain the 80% level. In the event that a monitoring report <br />recommends replanting or other remedial activities, HDR will provide <br />oversight of these efforts as they are implemented by NCSU or other <br />OWNER contractor(s). <br />1.6.3.3. Reports. DELETE (see above at 1.6.3.1.6.) <br />1.6.4 Additional Environmental Services <br />1.6.4.1 Phase II Planting Coordination. Coordination with NCSU on <br />growing and planting trees for the Phase II planting (December 1993 <br />- March 1994) to complete the total wetlands and upland planting <br />program. (See paragraph <br />1.5.9.1, page 1) <br />5.1.3.1.2 For Construction Contract Administration and Resident <br />Field Representation Services related to the Spillway Slab <br />Evaluation, payment shall be a LUMP SUM of Twelve Thousand Seventy <br />Dollars and 00/100 Cents ($12,070). For post-construction phase (monitoring and <br />maintenance), the amount and method of compensation shall be as <br />described below. <br />5.1.3.2.3.1. Monitoring. The estimated manhours for each <br />monitoring event through the monitoring contract period of March 15, <br />1993 to December 31, 1999 are shown in Exhibit B. For monitoring <br />services during the period April 19, 1993 through June 30, 1994, <br />payment shall be a LUMP SUM of One Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand and <br />00/100 Dollars ($126,000.00). Thereafter, for the remainder of the <br />monitoring contract period ending December 31, 1999, the required <br />manhours and fee will be reviewed and negotiated on an annual basis. <br />Should the monitoring period extend beyond the final report <br />submittal date of December 31, 1999, the fee shall be adjusted as <br />mutually agreed to accommodate additional scope required to comply <br />with the 404 permit. <br />5.1.3.2.3.2. Maintenance.
