527 <br /> <br />IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE PROGRAM <br />When unable to acquire necessary right-of-way for unpaved <br />roads, will apply available funds programmed for that improvement <br />toward the next priorities. <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter opened the public hearing for the proposed Secondary <br />and Trust Fund Construction Program and asked if anyone were present who wished <br />to address the Board regarding this proposed program. <br /> Ms. Mildred Asbury commented on the poor condition of Troutman Road and <br />asked that repairs be made to the road. <br /> Chairman Carpenter reported that a resident of Gregory Road had requested <br />that the road be paved. <br /> Mr. Gordon advised that the Department would check the condition of <br />Troutman Road. He also reported that Gregory Road was currently rated Priority <br />27 of the 98 rural roads in the county. <br /> There being no one else present to address the Board, Chairman Carpenter <br />closed the public hearing for the proposed secondary roads program. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart with <br />Commissioners Hamby, Barnhart, and Payne and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following resolution. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO THE <br />1992-1993 SECONDARY ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br /> FOR CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has <br /> submitted a proposed Secondary Road Improvement Program <br /> in the amount of $537,369.00 for Cabarrus County for the <br /> 1992-1993 Fiscal Year; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Co~nissioners in accordance <br /> with North Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 held a <br /> public hearing on May 4, 1992 at 7:00 P.M. in the <br /> Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Cabarrus County <br /> Governmental Center in Concord, North Carolina, in order <br /> to consider public comments about the proposed Secondary <br /> Road Improvement Program; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 provides that <br /> the Board of County Commissioners, after the <br /> presentation and discussion of the annual Secondary Road <br /> Improvement Program, may concur with the program as <br /> proposed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of Cabarrus that said Board does concur with the 1992-1993 <br />Secondary Road Improvement Program as presented by the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation and recommend that the Board <br />of Transportation adopt the proposed program for Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Adopted this 4th day of May, 1992. <br /> <br />/s/ Carolyn B.
