Melvin <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Chairman to sign the annual <br />contract for the Weatherization Assistance Program for Low-Income Persons, <br />Contract Number 92-1441-50, between the Energy Division of the North Carolina <br />Department of Economic and Community Development and the Cabarrus County <br />Department of Aging. The County will receive a total of <br />$2,289.00 of Grant Funds for the Senior Center Outreach program from the <br />Centralina Council of Governments. <br /> Mr. Witherspoon reported that Agenda Item 5, the bid award for the <br />Nutrition Program for the Elderly Food Service Program, had been withdrawn from <br />the agenda at this time. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Mr. Michael Ward to the Cabarrus- <br />Rowan Park Commission for a four-year term ending July 1, 1996. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the request from Dr. William F. <br />Pilkington, Health Director, for a new Community Disease Control Specialist I <br />position at the Health Department as long as no financial support is sought from <br />the County. The position will be funded and administered by the Regional <br />HIV/AIDS Consortium in conjunction with the health departments in the region, <br /> <br /> <br />
