Carpenter <br /> Chairman <br /> <br />Sewer Deposit Complaint - Ms Mary Ann Dye <br /> <br /> Ms. Mary Ann Dye had requested to appear before the Board to express her <br />opposition to the sewer deposit; however, she was not present for the meeting. <br />The Board indicated that they would hear Ms. Dye at such time she made another <br />request to be placed on the agenda. <br /> <br />Request for Increase in Sewer Fees <br /> <br /> Mr. Henry Waldroup requested an increase in sewer rates to offset system <br />losses created by the transfer of customers to the Water and Sewer Authority and <br />an increase of twenty-nine percent (29%) in rates by the Authority. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following sewer rates effective <br />August 1, 1992: <br /> <br />Minimum sewer rate for first 0 2000 gallons <br />Ail over 2000 gallons $2.08/1000 gallons <br /> <br />$4.16 <br /> <br />Bid Award - Nutrition Program for the Elderly <br /> <br /> The following bids were received on June 12, 1992 for the Nutrition Program <br />for the Elderly food service contract for Fiscal Year 1992-93. <br /> <br /> Bid Cert. Bid Price <br />Vendor Bond Check (without tax) <br /> <br />Consolidated Coin Caterers Corp. <br />ServiceMaster Food Management <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />$2.1544 <br />$1.9o5 <br /> <br /> Ms. Eleanor Koski, Aging Director, reviewed the bids for the food service <br />contract. She reported that Consolidated Coin Caterers Corporation (4-C's) was <br />providing excellent service at this time and that all site managers had submitted <br />a letter in support of 4-C's. Ms. Koski further reported that ServiceMaster Food <br />Management had provided food service during Fiscal Year 1990-91, during which <br />time the County had experienced problems involving the quality and quantity of <br />food. However, she stated she had been informed that the company had hired <br />additional staff and upgraded its facilities since that time. Therefore, Ms. <br />Koski declined to made a recommendation on the bid award. She did suggest, <br />however, that if the Board did award the contract to ServiceMaster that the <br />County closely monitor the service for a period of 90 days and terminate the <br />contract if the service is unsatisfactory. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Simmons and <br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the Nutrition Program for the Elderly Food <br />Service Contract to the low bidder, ServiceMaster Food Management, at a cost of <br />$1.905 (without tax) with the understanding that the County will closely monitor <br />the food service for a period of ninety (90) days and will take appropriate <br />action to terminate the contract if the service is unsatisfactory. <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter asked that a letter be forwarded to ServiceMaster <br />stating that the food service will be closely monitored for such things as food <br />quality, food temperature, and quantity of food provided to the meal sites. <br /> <br />Bid Award - Sheriff's Department Uniform Bids <br /> <br /> The following bids were received on June 23, 1992 for the Sheriff's <br />Department uniforms for the Fiscal Year 1992-93. <br /> <br /> <br />
