Bloodborne Pathogen (Annually) <br /> <br />1 hr. <br /> <br />*Must be covered bi-annually. <br /> <br />SECTION 13: Insurance and Financing for the First Responder Program <br /> <br />Sponsor fire department (First Responder Agency) shall secure and maintain <br />insurance for all activities conducted pursuant to this program in a minimum <br />liability/indemnity amount satisfactory to County and shall hold County harmless <br />from any and all liability, damages or claims, including attorney's fees, that <br />might be asserted or suffered by County as a result of any act or omission of any <br />of such respective department's officers, employees, agents or representatives <br />arising out of services performed pursuant to this program. In this regard, on <br />its certificate of insurance provided to the Emergency Medical Services <br />Department, a sponsoring fire department shall indicate that its first responders <br />are covered and that Cabarrus County bears no responsibility for the actions of <br />the respective sponsoring department. <br /> <br />SECTION 14: Charges <br /> <br />There will be no charge for services of a Cabarrus County first responder agency <br />or for individuals acting as a first responder. Donations may be accepted. <br /> <br />SECTION 15: The Cabarrus County First Responder Advisory Board <br /> <br />The Advisory Board will consist of the following members: <br />A. President or designee of the Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> Firemen's <br /> Association. <br />B. Fire Chief or designee of each approved first responder agency. <br />C, Advisory Physician and/or emergency department nurse. <br />D. Director or designee of Cabarrus County Emergency Management. <br />E. Chief or designee of Cabarrus Rescue Squad. <br />F. A representative of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners or <br /> their designee. <br />G. Director or designee of Emergency Medical Services. <br />H. President or designee of the Fire Chiefs' Association. <br />I. Sheriff of Cabarrus County or his designee. <br /> <br />2. Each organization on the Advisory Board shall have one vote. <br />voting members will be verified prior to voting. <br /> <br />All <br /> <br />SECTION 16: Operational Standards for the Cabarrus County First Responder <br /> Advisory Board <br /> <br />SECTION 17: <br /> <br />The board will meet bi-monthly, on the fourth Thursday of each odd <br />numbered month. A 72-hour written notice will be given with time <br />and location noted. <br />The board will address grievances as described in Section 10. <br />The board will evaluate all requests for changes, deletions or <br />additions to the first responder program or the first responder <br />ordinance and make recommendations to the Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br />The board will provide audit and review for the first responder <br />program. <br />Any organization that meets the requirements for certification will <br />have their application automatically forwarded to the Board of <br />County Commissioners for approval. <br /> <br />Radio Communications <br /> <br />Dispatch of first responders and necessary communications will be as follows: <br /> <br />Only the dispatch will be on the county fire frequency (154.340). <br />Ail communications by first responder will be on the ambulance <br />frequency (155.160) so that the responding ambulance crew will <br /> <br /> <br />
