Commissioner Barnhart <br />moved that nominations be closed. The Board unanimously appointed Commissioner <br />Payne to the Transportation Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />Road Name Change Public Hearing <br /> <br /> At 7:30 P.M., Chairman Carpenter stated that this was date and time for a <br />public hearing to consider the renaming of May Apple Court to Strawberry Court. <br />She asked if anyone were present who wished to speak either for or against the <br />road name change. There was no one present to address the Board, and Chairman <br />Carpenter closed the public hearing. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the'road name change (Petition 92-93/03) <br />from May Apple Court to Strawberry Court. <br /> <br />Appointment of Commissioner Member to the Piedmont Area Mental Health Authority <br /> <br /> Commissioner Barnhart nominated Chairman Carpenter for appointment as the <br />Commissioner member of the Piedmont Area Mental Health, Mental Retardation and <br />Substance Abuse Authority. Commissioner Fennel moved that nominations be closed. <br />The Board unanimously appointed Chairman Carpenter to serve on the Mental Health <br />Authority. <br /> <br />Appointments - Tourism Authority <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following appointments/reappointments <br />to the Tourism Authority: <br /> <br />Reappointed Mr. Jim Moore - Seat Noo 9 Recommended by the Kannapolis <br /> Chamber of Commerce - Term ending December 31, 1995 <br /> <br /> <br />
