Bonds, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting Recess <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter recessed the meeting at 5:30 P.M. until the conclusion <br />of the Closing Ceremony for the Bicentennial Celebration <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter reconvened the meeting at 9:02 P.M. Commissioner Payne <br />was not present at this time and was absent for the remainder of the meeting. <br />Mrs. Frankie F. Bonds, Clerk to the Board, was present and recorded the minutes <br />of this portion of the meeting. <br /> <br />Licensing of Dogs and Cats <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter reported that the Animal Shelter and Health Department <br />did not have all the problems worked out to begin the issuance of dog and cat <br />licenses on JanuarY 1. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart with <br />Chairman Carpenter and Commissioners Barnhart and Casper voting for, the Board <br />deferred the implementation of the licensing fees as required by the Cabarrus <br />County Animal Control Ordinance from January 1, 1993 until April 1, 1993. <br /> <br />Economic Development Corporation <br /> <br /> Commissioner Barnhart reported that the City of Kannapolis had formed a <br />committee to review the Greater Cabarrus County Economic Development Corporation <br />which is currently undergoing a reorganization due to the withdrawal of the <br />Kannapolis Chamber of Commerce. At his request, the Board by consensus agreed <br />for Commissioners Barnhart and Payne (or Chairman Carpenter) to serve as the <br />Board's representatives in discussions with Kannapolis and/or other <br />municipalities regarding the current situation of the Economic Development <br />Corporation. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Carpenter recessed the meeting at 9:20 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
