157 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Sanitary Landfill budget as <br />recommended with the deletion of $115,000.00 from Engineering (Line Item 161) <br />for the landfill liner design cost, the reduction of Uniforms (Line Item 340) <br />to $1,700.00, and the reduction of Travel (Line Item 610) to $2,500.00. Also, <br />the Board agreed to delete the contribution of $37,375.24 from the General Fund. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Chairman Simmons and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Recycling budget as recommended with <br />the elimination of the pick-up truck in the amount of $12,500.00 from Equipment <br />and Furniture (Line Item 860) and the addition of the new roll-off truck at a <br />cost of $85,000. These changes resulted in an increase in the Equipment and <br />Furniture line item from the recommended $47,040.00 to $119,540.00. <br /> Mr. Michael M. Rufftn, County Manager, presented a memorandum from Mr. <br />James F. Cook, 3r., Social Services Director, stating that he had received <br />information that the State estimates of public assistance requirements on which <br />the Department based the 1991-92 County budget request may be too low. <br />According to Mr. Cook's letter, an additional $33,618.00 may be required for <br />Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) and an additional $130,712.00 <br />may be required for Medicaid. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Simmons <br />adjourned the meeting at 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
