172 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Cabarrus County Governmental <br />Center in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, June 17, 1991, at 6:30 P.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: Billy J. Simmons, Jr. <br /> Commissioners: Jeffrey L. Barnhart <br /> Carolyn B. Carpenter <br /> William G. Hamby, Jr. <br /> Kenneth F. Payne <br /> Chairman Simmons called the meeting to order at 6:38 P.M. <br /> The invocation was given by Commissioner Barnhart. <br /> Chairman Simmons announced that the Board would not be adopting the <br />proposed Fiscal Year 1991-1992 Budget during this meeting as Board members would <br />be looking at additional items in the budget. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the minutes of May 17, 1991 were approved as written. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS CONSENT <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following subcontracts between the <br />Department of Aging and various agencies to provide Title III and state aging <br />services and authorized Chairman Simmons to execute the contracts on behalf of <br />Cabarrus County: <br /> <br />Contract for Lab Services - Cabarrus Memorial Hospital - Purchase <br />of lab services to be delivered at four (4) health fairs beginning <br />September, 1991 and continuing through June 30, 1992 at a unit price <br />of $10.50 per participant under the stated terms of the contract. <br /> <br />Contract for Institutional Respite Care Services - First Assembly <br />Adult Day Care To render institutional respite care services to <br />older adults for the period July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992 at <br />a unit price of $18.00 per day in accordance with the stated terms <br />of the contract. <br /> <br />Contract for Institutional Respite Care Services - First Assembly <br />Adult Day Health - To render institutional respite care services to <br />older adults for the period July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992 at <br />a unit price of $25.00 per day in accordance with the stated terms <br />of the contract. <br /> <br />Contract for Institutional Respite Care Services - L.I,F,E, Center - <br /> To render institutional respite care services to older adults for <br />the period beginning July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992 at a unit <br />price of $17.00 per day in accordance with the stated terms of the <br />contract. <br /> <br />Contract for Respite Care - Temporary Placement - Giles Leisure Home <br /> To render domiciliary care services to older adults for the period <br />beginning July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992 at a unit price of <br />$1.04 per hour for ambulatory participants and $1.09 per hour for <br />semi-ambulatory participants in accordance with the stated terms of <br />the contract. <br /> <br />Contract for Home Management and Personal Care Services - Department <br />of Social Services To render In-Home Aide Services to five older <br />adults at Level I service standards and to eleven older adults at <br />Level II service standards for the period July 1, 1991 through June <br />30, 1992 at a unit price of $5.99 in accordance with the stated <br />terms of the contract. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Contract Amendment #2 to <br />the "Contract for Services Provided for under Title III of the Older Americans <br />Act and/or Social Services Block Grant funds and for the North Carolina State <br />Grant Funds" from the Area Agency on Aging and authorized Chairman Simmons to <br />execute the Contract Amendment dated May 15, 1991 on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br />The grant funds in the total amount of $275,550.00 remained unchanged with a <br /> <br /> <br />
