315

Chairman Simmons requested Commissioners CarPenter and Hamby to
investigate the Pitts Volunteer Fire Department Agreement and the possible
placement of an ambulance crew at the station.
UPON MOTION of Chairman Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter with
Chairman Simmons and Commissioners Carpenter and Hamby voting for and
Commissioner Barnhart voting against, the Board agreed that the Board members
would be treated like other elected officials such as the Sheriff and Register
of Deeds and have health insurance coverage available to them by the County, if
they should choose to sign up. This coverage is subject to the County
Attorney's determination that the insurance coverage meets all legal
requirements.
Chairman Simmons stated that he would send a response to the City of
Concord confirming that the proposed July 22nd settlement agreement relative to
the airport was not acceptable to the County.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Simmons
recessed the meeting at 9:15 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 18,
1991.

Clerk to the Board
