368 <br /> <br /> The Board by consensus agreed to add the following items to the agenda: <br />(1) a resolution in support of the proposed Open-Heart Surgery Program at the <br />Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and (2) a contract betwemn the County and the City <br />of Concord for the Ambulance personnel to be based at the City Fire Station ~4 <br />for a period of six months in exchange for a Motorola 2-position console which <br />is being replaced in the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following contract between the City <br />of Concord and Cabarrus County and authorized the Chairman to execute the <br />contract on behalf of the county. The Board further declared the Motorola 2- <br />position console being replaced in the Sheriff's Department as surplus property <br />and directed that the disposition procedure be followed with the publication of <br />a ten-day notice. <br /> <br />CONTRACT <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into as of the day of <br />November, 1991, by and between CABARRUS COUNTY, a body politic and <br />political subdivision of the State of North Carolina, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "COUNTY", by and through its Board of <br />Commissioners, and the CITY OF CONCORD, a body politic and political <br />subdivision of the State of North Carolina, hereinafter referred to <br />as the "CITY", by and through its Board of Aldermen. <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: that <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY has a Fire Department, Station #4 which is <br />located on Highway 601, Concord, North Carolina; and <br /> WHEREAS, the COUNTY has an Ambulance Station #2 which must be <br />moved by the end of December, 1991, and is having a new Station ~2 <br />built, but will need housing for one (1) ambulance and two (2) <br />personnel, for a period of six (6) months or less; and <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY has agreed to let the COUNTY, Emergency <br />Medical Services be housed at the CITY Fire Station ~4 for a period <br />of six (6) months or less; and <br /> WHEREAS, the COUNTY wishes to be based at the Fire Station ~4 <br />beginning November 15, 1991 - May 13, 1992. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, COUNTY and <br />CITy mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. This contract shall begin November 15, 1991, and shall <br />continue for a period of six (6) months (180) days or less. If the <br />full six months is needed, this contract shall exist and continue <br />through May 13, 1992. This contract may be renewed for a longer <br />period of time if the new Ambulance Station ~2 is not completed <br />within this time frame and at the mutual agreement of both parties. <br />Additionally, this contract may be terminated by either party with <br />thirty (30) days written notice. <br /> 2. The Fire Department will provide housing for one (1) <br />ambulance and living and sleeping quarters for two (2) Ambulance <br />personnel for a twenty-four (24) hour day period. <br /> 3. Ambulance personnel will be responsible for keeping their <br />sleeping quarters and housing of ambulance area clean and tidy at <br />all times, when they are in these specific areas. <br /> 4. Ambulance personnel will be responsible for the cleanup <br />of any area at the Fire Department which they may use in regards to <br />living or working area. <br /> 5. The Ambulance personnel will limit all phone calls and <br />personal visits to cease at 22:00 hours. <br /> 6. Fire Department personnel will be allowed to ride on the <br />ambulance as assigned by the Concord Fire Department Interim Chief <br />or Fire Chief (when appointed) for training purposes. <br /> 7. In consideration for the use of Fire Station ~4 <br />facilities, Cabarrus County will gift to the City of Concord a <br />Motorola 2 position console upon its replacement by the Gabarrus <br />County Sheriff's Department with new equipment. <br /> <br /> <br />
