317 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby with <br />Commissioners Melvin, Hamby, and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for and <br />Commissioner Simmons voting against, the Board adopted the following budget <br />amendment relative to the Water and Sewer Authority Study. <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AMOUNT $25,320.00 <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To provide funds for our portion of the Water and Sewer <br />Authority Study. <br /> <br /> Line Item <br />Account Number <br /> <br />6-11-10-155 <br /> Intangibles Tax <br />9-11-10-155 <br /> Consultants <br /> <br />Present Approved <br /> Budget <br /> $930,000.00 <br /> <br /> Revised <br /> Increase Decrease Budget <br />$ 25,320.00 $955,320.00 <br /> <br />67,500.00 25,320.00 92,820.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby with <br />Commissioners Melvin, Hamby, and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for and <br />Commissioner Simmons voting against, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Chapters 121 and 132 of the General Statutes of North <br />Carolina define Public Records as "all documents, <br />papers, letters, maps, books, photographs, films, sound <br />recordings, magnetic or other tapes, electronic data <br />processing records, artifacts, or other documentary <br />material, regardless of physical form or <br />characteristics, made or received pursuant to law or <br />ordinance in connection with the transaction of public <br />business by any agency of North Carolina government or <br />its subdivisions"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Division of Archives and History and the North <br />Carolina Department of Cultural Resources have issued <br />a Records Retention and Disposition Schedule specifying <br />the retention periods governing the records series for <br />each of the following offices: County Administrative, <br />Financial, Legal, and Personnel Offices (dated December <br />1, 1982 and revised November 1985); Sheriff's Department <br />(dated July 1, 1982); Register of Deeds (dated July 1, <br />1982); Tax Supervisor and Tax Collector (dated July 1, <br />1982); County Libraries (dated October 1, 1985); and <br />Data Processing (dated January 1987); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Director of the Division of Archives and History and <br />the Secretary of the Department of Cultural Resources <br />have certified that such records as specified in the <br />Records Retention and Disposition Schedule have no <br />further use or value for research or reference; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />all provisions of the Records Retention and Disposition <br />Schedule will remain in effect until such time the <br />schedule is officially amended by the Division of <br />Archives and History and the Department of Cultural <br />Resources. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of <br />Cabarrus County that: <br /> <br />The Records Retention and Disposition Schedule as issued by <br />.the Division of Archives and History and the North Carolina <br />Department of Cultural Resources is hereby approved for <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />The destruction or other disposition of records as specified <br />in the Records Retention and Disposition Schedule is hereby <br />authorized without further approval by the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />
