35O <br /> <br />B. Fire Chief or designee of each approved first responder agency. <br />C. Advisory Physician and/or emergency department nurse. <br />D. Director or designee of Cabarrus County Emergency Services. <br />E. A representative of each Cabarrus County rescue squad. <br />F. A representative of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners if <br /> they desire. <br />G. Director or designee of Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services. <br />H. President of the Fire Chiefs' Association. <br />I. Sheriff of Cabarrus County or his designee. <br /> <br />SECTION 16: <br /> <br />Operational Standards for the Cabarrus County First Responder <br />Advisory Board <br /> <br />The board will meet as needed. This generally will be quarterly. A 72- <br />hour written notice will be given. <br />The board will address grievances as described in Section 10. <br />The board will evaluate all requests for changes, deletions or additions <br />to the first responder program or the first responder ordinance and make <br />recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. <br />The board will provide audit and review for the first responder program. <br />Any organization that meets the requirements for certifications will have <br />their application automatically forwarded to the Board of County <br />Commissioners for approval. <br /> <br />SECTION 17: RADIO COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Dispatch of first responders and necessary communications will be <br />as follows: <br /> <br />1. Only the dispatch will be on the county'fire frequency (154.340). <br /> <br />Ail communications by first responder will be on the ambulance frequency <br />(155.160) so that the responding ambulance crew will receive all <br />information without the need for an information relay and all non- <br />relevant communications will be kept off the fire frequency. These <br />communications should be limited to the first responder checking in route <br />(10-17) and arrival (10-23) plus any critical medical information. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following revisions to the contract <br />between David R. Polston, Architect, and Cabarrus County for architectural and <br />engineering services necessary for the construction of a new Senior Center and <br />authorized Chairman Lentz to sign the revised contract on behalf of Cabarrus <br />County. <br /> <br />(1) The size of the facility was increased from 10,000 square feet to <br />15,000 square feet; and <br /> <br />(2) A maximum cap of $40,500.00 was placed on the architectural and <br />engineering fee for the facility. <br /> <br /> Mr. James F. Cook, Jr., Social Services Director, briefly reviewed the <br />application for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) funds in the <br />amount of $44,086.00 for Fiscal Years 1990-1991 and 1991-1992. He explained <br />that the program would replicate the "Home Remedies Program" and would provide <br />for a social worker/therapist to work intensively with families where child <br />abuse or neglect has been identified and where such services can prevent the <br />necessity of placing the children in foster care. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the submission of the Juvenile Justice <br />and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) grant application by the Department of Social <br />Services for $44,086.00 in funding for each of the next two fiscal years. <br /> Mr. James F. Cook, Jr., Social Services Director, also presented a request <br />from the Piedmont Peace Project to register voters in the Department of Social <br />Services facility for the period April 2-6, 1990. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss with <br />Commissioners Hamby and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for and Commissioners <br />Melvin and Simmons voting against, the Board declined the request by the <br />Piedmont Peace Project and asked that the Board of Elections designate one or <br /> <br /> <br />
