Lentz, Chairman of the Board of <br />Cabarrus County Commissioners, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, June 5, <br />1990 as <br /> <br />"Law Enforcement Torch Run Day in Cabarrus County" <br /> <br /> AND FURTHERMORE, I extend my gratitude and appreciation to <br />officers of the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department, and the <br />Concord and Kannapolis Police Departments, for lending their support <br />to such a meaningful and worthwhile cause. <br /> <br />This the 21st day of May, 1990. <br /> <br /> /s/ James W, Lentz <br />James W. Lentz <br />Chairman <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael M. Ruffin, County Manager,. reported that the design of the <br />Senior Center project to be 80 percent complete and asked the Board's direction <br />in bidding the project. He indicated that staff concerns regarding office size <br />had been resolved. <br /> Chairman Lentz returned at 10:32 P.M. and presided over the remainder of <br />the meeting. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Senior Center project to be put <br />out for bids. <br /> Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting until the conclusion of the meeting <br />of the Board of Commissioners for the Water and Sewer District of Cabarrus <br />County. <br />Chairman Lentz reconvened the meeting of the Board of Commissioners. <br />UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board by resolution changed the first regular meeting <br />of each month from 7:00 P.M. until 9:30 A.M. on the first Monday of each month. <br />The second regular meeting of the month will continue to be held at 7:00 P.M. <br />on the third Monday of each month. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board set the public hearing for the proposed Fiscal <br />Year 1990-1991 Budget on Monday, June 4, at 9:30 A.M. with the understanding <br />that the Board will reconvene at 7:00 P.M. on June 4 to hear any one who cannot <br />attend the scheduled public hearing and who has requested in writing to address <br />the Board at 7:00 P.M. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into executive session to discuss <br />litigation with the County Attorney. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the executive session was adjourned. No report was filed for the executive session. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Lentz <br />recessed the meeting until 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 1990, at 5:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
