Hughes Grayson <br /> Staff Attorney <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the contracts between Cabarrus County, <br />by and through its Department of Social Services, and the following agencies: <br />Cooperative Christian Ministry, Meals on Wheels, Inc., and Cabarrus Victims <br />Assistance Network, Inc. The Board authorized Mr. James F. Cook, Jr., Social <br />Services Director, to execute the following contracts on behalf of Cabarrus <br />County and the Department of Social Services. <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> CONTRACT <br /> This contract made by and between Cabarrus County, hereinafter referred <br />to as the "County", by and through its Department of Social Services, and <br />Cooperative Christian Ministry, hereinafter referred to as CCM. <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> WHEREAS, CCM provides crisis assistance and other supportive services to <br />individuals and families in need and is properly incorporated in the State of <br />North Carolina for this purpose; and <br /> WHEREAS, CCM wishes to secure the financial support of the County for a <br />portion of the costs incurred in providing these services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County, in the interest of the welfare of its citizens, <br />desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs incurred by CCM <br />in its provision of these services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County has appropriated the sum of $10,000.00 for this <br />purpose for the period July 1, 1990 through June 30, 1991. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the County and CCM do <br />mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> 1. This contract shall begin July 1, 1990 and shall exist and continue <br /> through June 30, 1991. <br /> 2. CCM shall provide its services to individuals who qualify for these <br /> services in relation to CCM~s established policies in a manner <br /> specified by these policies. These policies are understood to <br /> provide for compliance with Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights <br /> Act of 1964 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as <br /> appropriate, in addition to any other local ordinances, state laws, <br /> and federal regulations which may be applicable to CCM and its <br /> services. <br /> 3. The County shall allocate and pay to CCM twelve (12) monthly <br /> payments of $833.33 each for a total of $10,000.00 with each payment <br /> to be made on or about the last day of each month commencing in <br /> July, 1990. <br /> 4. CCM will undergo an audit of its operations conducted by a Certified <br /> Public Accountant and will submit a copy of the report of this audit <br /> to the Department of Social Services within ninety 90 days of the <br /> conclusion of CCMWs established fiscal year. <br /> 5.
